It’s interesting to me how The Day newspaper doesn’t feel as though discrimination against sufferers of mental illness is inot mportant enough for their newspaper. Since when is discrimination not important enough to let the public know that it is happening?
I have approached them three times since the beginning of June 2013 about UCONN’s inability to effectively meet the needs of student’s with mental illness.
Why is this not a story worthy of The Day? In not sharing it with their readings in an effort to bring change, it appears as though they don’t care – perhaps they’re indifferent. Their silence doesn’t show any concern that a segment of the population does’t matter. I thought that we, in the US, were not supposed to discriminate. Well it’s happening and The Day doesn’t care.
